The Dusk In Us By Converge Is Out Now
Today marks the release of The Dusk In Us, the long-anticipated new album from Converge. Their first studio effort in five years, The Dusk In Us is the ninth full-length from the Boston-based heavy-music innovators.
Produced by Converge (vocalist Jacob Bannon, guitarist Kurt Ballou, bassist Nate Newton, and drummer Ben Koller), The Dusk In Us matches its raw energy with an artful inventiveness that’s earned the band longtime reverence in the punk, metal, and hardcore scenes. The album arrives as the follow-up to 2012’s All We Love We Leave Behind, which was featured on Pitchfork’s Best New Music list.
Earlier this week, Converge released the video for “A Single Tear,” the powerful opening track from The Dusk In Us.

As the second video from The Dusk In Us, “A Single Tear” follows last summer’s release of “I Can Tell You About Pain.” In praising that track, NPR noted that “[n]early 25 years after its debut album, the band’s cyclonic buzzsaw is unmistakable.”

Next month, Converge will embark on a tour of North America. Pile and Give will join the band on their East Coast run, while SUMAC and Cult Leader will be the support acts for all West Coast dates.
