UNDECLINABLE Bio
Maybe you've been wondering: No, Jasper hasn't become a distinguished gardener, Dennis didn't marry that divorced housewife with two kids, Skanne wasn't hired as a contract killer, Helmer didn't win an Oscar and Jorg hasn't joined The Church Of The Sacred Bleeding Heart. None of that. They're still in that band, UNDECLINABLE (formerly known as our favourite band Undeclinable Ambuscade).
After years of extensive touring with bands like Bad Religion, The Offspring and Ten Foot Pole, playing major festivals all over Europe and releasing great records like '98's much acclaimed One For The Money they took some time off for themselves. Although that meant their devoted fans were condemned to a lonely and loveless life. At least for a while...
In the last few years the Dutch band may have lost a word (Ambuscade), but they've gained so much more. Just convince yourself by listening to Sound City Burning, their astonishing third album for Epitaph Records. Melodies have always been a major issue in Undeclinable's world of songwriting. Well, you ain't heard nothing yet until you allow Sound City Burning, produced by sound wizard Oscar Holleman (The Gathering, Krezip, Heideroosjes), to please your ears. And boy, do these guys sing! Their voices fit together perfectly.
Of course, they're not rookies anymore. Undeclinable have been around since the beginning of the nineties. They made their mark during those years as Holland's leading punkband and will be around for quite some time. In some strange way they have managed to mature without losing their original spirit. They're still punkrock. No doubt about that. Now, with a glorious album to show the world, they're willing to admit they're pop too. There's no denying that either. These guys deliver the pop thing brilliantly, but still rock out as hell. Listen to their version of Joe Jackson's Is She Really Going Out With Him, the single that accompanies this great album. You'll be convinced. That's Undeclinable, the best of two worlds. At least of ours...
