Ikara Colt Bio
The band met at art college in London and formed the band at the end of 1999. They spent a lot of time doing nothing and finally got around to recording a demo in the Spring of 2001!
Fantastic Plastic, the London based label, saw IKARA COLT playing an early gig and offered to release the band's debut single. They recorded "Sink Venice" and it became a Single Of The Week in Kerrang!
The leading radio station in the UK, RADIO ONE began to support the band and they recorded Sessions for both John Peel and Steve Lamacq's radio shows.
The band, now working full time with Fantastic Plastic released their second single "One Note" in September 2001. Again it is made Single Of The Week in Kerrang!
IKARA COLT's debut album "Chat And Business" was recorded in Fortress Studios in East London, which is close to where the band live. The album was released in the UK in March 2002.
For the past year the band have been busy touring throughout the UK and they have supported Six By Seven and Idlewild.
In March 2002 this year they headlined a tour with support bands The Parkinsons & 80's Matchbox B-line Disaster. This was hailed as the "Best Tour Of The Year" by Radio One.
