The new Dropkick Murphys DVD gets another great review
Over their many years of popularity in the punk scene, The Dropkick Murphys have established a reputation as being a solid punk band with some quirky additions. On their new DVD "On the Road With The Dropkick Murphys" a true fan can get their best look at the band, as well as access some of the greatest features a music DVD has to offer.
The DVD includes an invigorating performance on St. Patrick's Day in 2002. The band belts out 22 of their best tracks to a massive crowd in Boston receiving a gratifying reaction from all those in attendance. Not only does this DVD contain more than just your expected live show, but the band throws in much more to please fans along the way.
"65 Days of Hell" takes the fan on a journey through the lives of a tour with The Dropkick Murphys. Showing segments of Warped Tour stops in addition to the band's Canadian 4th of July celebration, Russian and Japanese stops (found in rare footage and home videos), and much more, the final documentary of the band's "65 Days of Hell" turns out to be more of "65 Days of Hilarious Comedy With Your Favorite Band, The Dropkick Murphys." Either way, the DVD delivers the goods.
Adding in every single video the band has even made, in addition to some live performances from their 2003 tour in support of "Blackout," the level of interest stays at an intriguing pace throughout. Everything included in the DVD is enjoyable and fun, and in the end makes you a bigger Dropkick Murphys fan than you were before.
For one thing, it is rare to even find a music DVD that lasts more than two hours (in this instance "On the Road With The Dropkick Murphys" lasts 260 minutes). And for every minute the DVD is playing, the level of interest still stays very high. Everything about this DVD is great; it's fun, entertaining, and full of excellent music from one of punk's greatest bands, The Dropkick Murphys.
