The Menzingers Return Home To Headline Fourth Annual NEPA Holiday Show
Benefitting music and arts programs in Scranton and the surrounding area, nine bands with local ties will come together to perform as part of the fourth annual NEPA Holiday Show on Dec. 20 at The Leonard Theatre in downtown Scranton. The all-ages event, spearheaded by locally founded indie punk bands The Menzingers and Tigers Jaw, will also include performances by Captain We’re Sinking, Okay Paddy, The Swims, Three Man Cannon, Petal, Esta Coda and The Red Barons.
Building upon its reputation as a highly anticipated regional holiday event in the tri-state area, the NEPA Holiday Show will also bear witness to the reunions of two well-known regional acts, Okay Paddy and The Swims. Power pop outfit Okay Paddy will play its first show since disbanding in 2007, having come together in 1998. The Swims, once signed to local indie label Prison Jazz Records, have not performed together since 2010. These reunions will be a first for the NEPA Holiday Show lineup.
The year of firsts continues for the NEPA Holiday Show as it becomes the first live music event hosted by The Leonard Theatre, formerly the Diva Theater. The newly renovated venue will usher in a new era for the annual event as it plans to showcase the highest production value and host the largest audience in the event’s history.
The holiday show serves as a homecoming for both the lineup of bands who all call the Scranton area home and for the fans who come together from all over to share in this experience with us each year,” said Tom May, guitarist and vocalist for The Menzingers.
“This year’s show will be the best yet. Last year we had people come from as far as Virginia and Boston. We all have a lot of pride in how prolific and influential the music in our hometown has become, and the show is a great way to share it with the world.”

The NEPA Holiday Show, a live music event benefitting live music and arts programs in the Scranton area, was founded by locally bred indie punks bands The Menzingers and Tigers Jaw in 2011. Annually occurring the weekend before Christmas, the show features a robust, rotating lineup of local artists, and aims to showcase local talent while also drawing fans from up and down the East Coast. Net proceeds support Arts Alive, an intensive arts institute for students in kindergarten through grade twelve, now in its 22nd year.
