The HorrorPops buzz keeps growing and growing!
HorrorPops - Hell Yeah (Hellcat Records) On songs like "Kool Flattop" and "Psychobitches Outta Hell" you'll hear punk, surf, ska, and hot rock 'n roll. But more importantly you'll hear a band without any pretense, that is having a blast doing what they love to do.- Making music! The Horropops are very much in the vein of Reverend Horton Heat and The Cramps, and that genre that's lovingly called Psychobilly. This is the kind of music that gets under your skin, and doesn't let loose until you're out on the dance floor having a spastic, musical orgasm! Horrorpops are from Copenhagen, Denmark. I'm not just saying that to make them sound mysterious or anything, I mention it because Denmark been a hotbed of bands with a cool, rockabilly vibe (Helicopters, Vines). Like the British Invasion of the 60's (Beatles, Dave Clark 5, etc.,) these bands are taking their influences of early and current American rock 'n roll, and showing us just how important, meaningful and especially fun it really is when it's done right.

Horrorpops sound like a combination of Tiger Army and No Doubt. Some songs are very similar to swing or rockabilly, by todays standards. Good lyrics also, and the beat is touchable. They also seem to throw some ska rhythms into certain songs like "Girl in a Cage," or the instrumental, "Horror Beach." I would definitely see them in concert. They look like they might be hard by appearance, but they actually play with fun involved!
