The HorrorPops are covered by www.glittergrrrls.com!

What comes to mind when you think of the Horrorpops? For me, it's fun and energy. What began in 1996 in Copenhagen, Denmark has swept rock fans of all genres off their feet. Patricia, playing with her band Peanut Pump Gun, met Kim Nekroman who was with his band, the Nekromantix. They taught each other to play each other's instruments and the madness began. Recently relocating to the United States, this band is going nowhere but up. If you don't like it, you can GO NA-NA-NA-NA-NA-NA YOURSELF!!!

Patricia took some time out of her busy schedule to answer some questions. Before we get onto the interview, on September 13, 2005, The HorrorPops will be releasing their new cd, "Bring It On!". Now, onto the fun!.

Laura: You guys recently played the Warped Tour. How was that for ya?

Patricia: Amazing! We loved the Warped tour and so much hope to get back on it next year, even though we renamed it "Warped Van Tour". We did have a quite a lot of breakdowns on the tour and spent more time with our hands down the engine than on our instruments hahahahaha.

Laura: I saw on the news that a lot of the fans were being taken to the hospital in my area due to the heat. With going from city to city, I'm sure the temperature is hard to adjust too, especially with the heat. How did you manage? I don't think liquids would be enough for me to survive!

Patricia: We didn't haha. It was crazy! No matter how much water we would drink, they would be gone by the first song. I passed out on stage on one of the shows and I think everyone else was pretty close to do the same. The problem is that when HorrorPops walks on stage we don't try to slow down "just" because of the heat. We can't figure out how to do that, so we just give it full throttle until we drop.

Laura: With the addition of Geoff Kresge on guitar, it seems like he's been with the band since the beginning. He fit in perfectly. What does he bring to the HorrorPops table?!

Patricia: A lot of laughs hahahahaha. Geoff is the best guitarist we had since our original guitarist Caz. You are totally right when you say it's like he's been there from the beginning and he actually almost has. He's toured with us before just tagging along as a friend and even been on stage playing with us a few times.

Laura: Along with Kamilla, whom I love lots!, there's No-No, your new dancer. Can you tell us more about her? Where did you meet her?

Patricia: No-No (Naomi) is our Texan princess and almost our cute but mean little mascot. Naomi has been a friend of ours for a while and when Mille left the band we knew right away that she was the one we wanted in the band. She's so much fun and a total firecracker.

Laura: You seem to thrive on high energy and fun especially with participation from the crowd. What has been your most memorable moment onstage so far?

Patricia: Wow, that's tough one. We always have so much fun on stage. We just got back from Japan and I think that's the most different place we played so far and it's just too much fun watching the Japanese crowds sing along.

Laura: When attending a show, I myself, don't want to move for fear I'll miss something happening on stage. I also want to take everything in and remember every little detail possible. The HorrorPops always want the fans to be apart of the action. What do you do if the crowd's being too laid back/quiet to get them into it?

Patricia: Yell at them and make fun of them hahaha. We haven't really experienced a quiet crowd yet, most places get in to it right away..lucky us!

Laura: On "Hell Yeah!", you and Kim did all of the writing. Now with "Bring It On!", the writing's between all of you. How does the writing process work now? Do you just jam and see what works or does someone bring something in and you go from there?

Patricia: On "Bring it On" we all took part of the writing process which was a lot of fun. Seriously, we were laughing out butts of in the rehearsal room. It's really cool to have 3 other people to bounce ideas of and I think "Bring It On" is more Horrorpops than before because of that. We would usually start off with someone bringing up a part or idea for a song and then start playing it and soon after it would be totally in the other direction. That some one would say "Hey', lets try to play a country song" and it would end up as a ska song...haha.

Laura: A lot of fans are DYING to hear the new martial (if they haven't heard it live already). Can you break down the songs and give a little description of the songs? (Unless, you want to keep hush hush spoil the fun of hearing songs for the first time!)

Patricia: I could tell a bit about all of the songs, but it's way more fun to see how fans read/understand the songs and besides we are while I'm writing this 25 days from the release date (not that I'm counting or anything hahahahaha).

Laura: What songs stick out for you on the new record? I can't get enough of "Trapped"!

Patricia: Yeah, I love "Trapped" too, but it changes everyday what I like the best. I'm so happy about the songs on this album and I can't wait for everyone to hear them.

Laura: Now for a few questions from some other fans: -Does the fact that there's two married couples in the band have any effects?

Patricia: Married, who, what when? haha. Being in a band is like being married to 5 other people.

-How do you like the American fans? How would you compare them to fans from other countries?

Patricia: Love 'em! They have so much energy and hormones flying around at the shows. I can't really compare it to other counties, it's just different.

-For your dancer's costumes, did you study for making patterns or did you just teach yourself?

Patricia: Naa, It's an education that I went to school for.

-How long does it take to make the dresses?

Patricia: That depends on how still NoNo and Kamilla stands hahahaha. It takes a long time. Most of their dresses have corsets built into them and it takes a lot of time to make it comfortable for them so they can breathe and jump around, without nothing falling out.

-How do you come up with ideas for the costumes?

Patricia: No idea. That just comes, sometimes in the middle of the night. I'll wake up with an "oooo" and then hope I can remember it the next morning.

Laura: Is there anything you'd like to cover that wasn't asked?

Patricia: I think you got it covered, thanx for some great questions. It's nice to get some different questions! See you out there.

Cheers!! Thanks for the interview!
