SAGE FRANCIS RELEASES THOUGHT PROVOKING NEW TRACK AS FREE MP3

NEW ALBUM, A HEALTHY DISTRUST, DUE FEBRUARY 8, 2005

SAGE FRANCIS is a public instigator. Try as you might to pin him down, this Hip-Hop reconstructionalist, onetime battle emcee turned slam poet turned personal journalist, has just released one of his most thought provoking tracks ever as a free mp3 available on Epitaph.com.

SAGE's new song, entitled "Slow Down Gandhi" is at once a diatribe against the current U.S. foreign policy as well as a George Carlin-esque rant against the hypocrisy of the current deluge of phony leftists and fly-by-night activists.

Unlike many of his contemporaries,SAGE never goes for the obvious. How many anti war songs would also include lines like:

"who's the one to blame for the strain of my vocal cords?
Who can pen hateful threats but can't hold a sword?
It's the same who complain about the global war,
But can't overthrow the local joker that they voted for."

or:

"Trustafundian rebel without a cause for alarm,
cuz when push turns to shove you jump into your forefather's arms. He's a banker. You're part of the system...
When the cameras start rolling, stay the fuck out of the picture, pilgrim."

And the cherry on top: "When the music's dead I'll have Ted Nugents head hanging on my wall."

"Slow Down Gandhi" is a tour de force full of humor, anger and insight, not to mention references to Suicidal Tendencies and Ice-T. It is also just one song from his just completed Epitaph debut, A Healthy Distrust which will be released on Feb 8, 2005.

A Healthy Distrust will be SAGE's first official solo album since 2001's acclaimed Personal Journals and it features collaborations with Will Oldham, Danger Mouse and others. We will have more information on A Healthy Distrust in the near future. In the meantime, you can keep up to date on SAGE FRANCIS news on Epitaph.com as well as SAGE's message board, Non-prophets.com/forum.
