Pianos Become The Teeth Celebrate 10 Years Of ‘Keep You’ With Digital Deluxe Album, Out Now
Post-hardcore band Pianos Become The Teeth are ringing in 10 years of their transformative 2014 record ‘Keep You’ with a digital deluxe version out today via Epitaph. Aided by the masterful production of Will Yip (Title Fight, La Dispute), their first project on the label marked a significant shift in sound with vocalist Kyle Durfey retiring his throat shredding scream and unveiling his emotive baritone. The newly expanded edition features instrumental versions of every track, allowing listeners to navigate the intricacies of its arrangements with a fresh perspective.
Guitarist/songwriter Mike York muses, "Truly hard to believe it's been 10 years since we released ‘Keep You’. It both feels like it was a lifetime ago and seems like it could have been just yesterday.”

On the making of the album York continues, “We, up to that point, had built our reputation on being an aggressive, post-hardcore band. We knew this record would be different, but I don't ever remember having a conscious conversation about it - like, when we were writing, the songs just took shape in the way they are on record. There wasn't this concerted effort to soften anything, we just naturally found our way there. Which, in a way, is the most beautiful thing about this record and every single thing we do. We just wrote where the feeling took us, and this became the final result. I couldn't be more proud of this record, as well as everything we have done for that reason."
Formed in Baltimore, D.C., five-piece Pianos Become The Teeth started out as a screamo band in 2006, gaining an enthusiastic fanbase via 2009’s Old Pride and 2011’s The Lack Long After. They transitioned into a post-rock act who expanded their sound on 2014’s Keep You, which AllMusic praised for its “mature tone that brings a sharper focus to the band’s songwriting and arrangements”. Keeping up that momentum in recent years, they have gone on to release 2018’s Wait For Love, and Drift in 2022.
In celebration of the anniversary, Pianos Become The Teeth are heading out to play select dates across the US where they will perform ‘Keep You’ in its entirety. Tickets are on sale and available HERE
