Motion City Soundtrack announce debut album plans!
Minneapolis' own Motion City Soundtrack has officially signed with Epitaph. Combining jagged guitars and emotional melodies with a spiraling synth, stop-and-start dynamics, and ironic, evocative lyrics, this Twin City quintet will put the finishing touches on their Epitaph debut album I Am The Movie next month. Produced by legendary emo rock producer Ed Rose (Get Up Kids, The Anniversary, Reggie And The Full Effect, Ultimate Fakebook) I Am The Movie will be in stores this summer.
Epitaph owner Brett Gurewitz commented on the signing; "From the very first chorus I was hooked. I find their songs absorbing and undeniable and I have to say that I haven't discovered a new band this compelling since the early '90s. I'm delighted that MCS have chosen Epitaph."
MCS also enthused, "We are ecstatic to be joining Epitaph. Its diverse roster - which includes many of our past and present influences - and the honest enthusiasm of Brett and staff, ensures us that we have found the right home."
Having played over 100 shows in the second half of 2002 with such artists as Jimmy Eat World, Girls Against Boys, Something Corporate, Thursday, Midtown, The All-American Rejects and many more, MOTION CITY SOUNDTRACK are currently headlining their own club tour throughout the Midwest. They will join up with the Reunion Show in March and support the All-American Rejects throughout the US from late March - May.
