Great review of The Matches from Entertainment Today.
The Matches
E. Von Dahl Killed the Locals
by Veronica Munguia
Here's a new hot band out of Oakland and this is the sound of "More Than Local Boys," the song that justifies just where the Matches are coming from. Just off of Warped Tour, promoting their debut album E. Von Dahl Killed the Locals, the Matches are the next best punk band out of the California Bay Area.
With anthem-ridden songs, chants, and the 1-2-3-go type punk attitude and presence, the Matches put themselves in the hearts of the outsiders with "Borderline Creep," "The Jack Slap Cheer" and "The Restless," a song reminiscent of good times of a normal teen life. This is the new album that fans of old punk will be happy to tolerate. Fall album and tour information, the Matches can be found at www.thematches.com.
