Farewell Interview on TeenMag.com
Marshall Davis, Kevin Carter, Wil Andrews, Buddy Bell, Jeff Ellis, and Chris Lee make up the band Farewell, whose debut album, Isn't This Supposed to Be Fun?, is now in stores. Teenmag writer Nicole Pomarico sat down to chat with the band's lead singer, Marshall, about their new CD and what artists they love the most.
Teenmag: So, tell me about the band.
Marshall: We're from Greensboro, North Carolina. I don't know if you've ever been there, but it's a really small town. We're one of the few pop/rock bands out of that area. It's mostly metal bands. We started a few years back and our first record just came out.
Teenmag: That's exciting! What was it like to record the album?
Marshall: It was a long process. It took us about two years of demo-ing. We've been working with the producer, Mark McClusky, who is a really good friend of the band and has a similar vision of what we wanted. We worked with him to flesh out the ideas we had for the record.
Teenmag: What's your favorite song on the CD?
Marshall: My favorite song right now is "Eighty-Eights."
Teenmag: What band inspires your music the most?
Marshall: I grew up listening to Green Day, and a lot of other pop/punk and rock bands.
Teenmag: What artist would you most like to work with?
Marshall: Well, we just played a show last night with Motion City Soundtrack. That was a lot of fun. They're like our big brothers, and we love to play shows with them.
Teenmag: Speaking of shows, do you have any plans for a tour?
Marshall: We're going to be touring for the next year, trying to sell this record so we can reach as many people as we can.
